Little Shadow Console is designed to mimic the appearance of the Peacock console's tambour door, but it actually consists of a pair of swing doors and a pair of push-to-open doors. Without the limitations of sliding tambour doors, the internal storage space is more practical. This cabinet was made for storing shoes, and the compartments behind the push-to-open doors on the left and right are dedicated spaces for umbrellas. Drawing inspiration from the design traces left by craftsmen of the past and refining them, the aim is for this cabinet to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

Little Shadow Console - 【傘子櫃】
早前讀到一位作家寫道「打動人心的好故事，訴說的都是我們的集體意識。看似循著相同的軌跡，卻永不重複。看似複雜多變，卻又有跡可循。」
想到很多客人都喜歡Peacock console的趟門款式(tambour door)，可能大家的集體意識下，都有著某種美感偏好相連，想著想著都覺得神奇。😌
今次造這個櫃子是仿Peacock console趟門(tambour door)的外貌，實際是由一對揭門和一對按彈門組成。沒有tambour door趟門的限制，內存空間更實用。此櫃將會放在近大門位置，中間倉存放鞋子，左右的按彈門內是專屬擺放雨傘的空間。抽取從前匠人留下的設計軌跡，加以改良，希望此櫃更是美觀和實用並重。
最近學到一個小冷知識，雨傘發明的最初用途原來是遮陽，不是遮雨！此來源從英文「Umbrella」一字都有跡可尋 —「Umbrella」源自拉丁文「umbra」，意思是「陰影、影子」，「-ella」則是「微小」，所以umbrella原意是 「Little Shadow」呢。
